Finance is difficult to get for Tiny Homes, but we recommend contacting Handy Pay as they have had success in this field.

No, a building permit is not required as a Tiny House is considered a registerable moveable dwelling.

Regarding planning permits, it depends on what your local council rules and regulations are. Most of the time you do not need a planning permit to buy, build or own a Tiny Home. You may require permission to connect services or to live in your Tiny Home. Some councils have guidelines as to how often you are able to stay in the Tiny Home. Currently, there are over 100,000 people living in registerable movable dwellings in Australia.

Yes and it can be very similar to standard house plumbing (unless opting for a composting toilet). Most Tiny Houses have showers, toilets, sinks, kitchens as well as hot water.

 

Normally, a Tiny Home is moved minimally and set up for an extended period of time in one destination. If you wanted to tow something around Australia, we would recommend a caravan.

Yes, however each council has their own set of rules and regulations. It is best to check with your local council as to what your restrictions are.
